Chapter IIX
Beauty (From our Published Book “Portentous Beauty”) (Copyrights 2024)

I, Beauty, relish in your attempts to catch me, and I wish to tell you how not to do it. Don’t look me up in the dictionary! Really, I’m telling you, you’re not going to find me in the dictionary. You must understand that words come and go, slowly, with the passage of time; you will always see them, but at certain times they will have a completely different meaning. In terms of words, the insides change and the outside stays the same.

For example, “shoes”, from the beginning of time to the present, have kept the same name but their production procedures have changed so profoundly that we talk about very different products when using the word “shoes” throughout the history of that word.

Automobiles also serve as a clear example of this situation. The word “automobile” today refers to electric cars that are almost entirely a different object to what was once conceived as an automobile.
I, Beauty, spill and sneak discreetly between the words of the dictionary throughout the ages in a way that you humans will not be able to predict. I grant myself at my discretion.

I, Beauty, want to tell you that you must think of me as a person, not because I am—I am not a person—but you must understand me as a person and look for me anthropocentrically because in you humans there is an image and likeness of someone very important in whom I am an essential attribute.

I, Beauty, am present in the unrepeatable, the inscrutable, I accompany those of greatest notoriety. You, humans, do well to probe me, guided by the reflection of His image and likeness in yourselves.

I, Beauty, in fallen nature, have an institutional role; I am a superstructure that accompanies the structures that you humans are making. If you improve your structures, I will synchronize to accompany you in the adventure! I love the subject of economics because it helps me reinvent myself and share with you humans.

I, Beauty, for the purposes of physical science, have two favorite games: intensive and extensive games. I challenge your science with my inexhaustible general properties, but I abound among you in quantities so that you cannot forget my existence.

To chemical science I show my substance, I am a mixture that cannot be separated by your known physical processes: decantation, filtration, distillation. I love letting chemistry know that I’m a compound but it has no way of including me in the periodic table. I am an expert in unexplained chemical reactions for experts.

I, Beauty, tell biologists something that defies their categories, I am biotic and abiotic, whenever I please. I make selective permeability between different external media, I am able to take substances from the medium, transform them, release them and even create waste products. I can grow, multiply and evolve! I can also create my own food, serve as food or be broken down. At the same time, I am inert, I am part of the diversity and any family of environmental systems. If I please, I can be renewable; and when I want exclusivity, I behave as non-renewable.

I, Beauty, as I mentioned, greatly enjoy economics and I love to entertain economists. My endowment of resources and my distribution is irreverent and sometimes disruptive; when I want, my walk is not a random walk but a dance full of grace.

As for ecological science, I invigorate it with my hyperextensive biodiversity and geodiversity. I enjoy orchestrating my load capabilities.

To poets and philosophers I speak with onomatopoeia and with music.

I, Beauty, never mock because my nature is kind, I always seek to console and enlighten. My reason for being is to give comfort.
